How the world's first virtual secret agent came to be:

In the past, the majority of cyber crime was directed toward enterprises and other very large companies. In recent years, security awareness and compliance with new government regulations has made these larger enterprises more difficult targets for cyber criminals. As a result, cyber criminals are shifting their focus to more small and mid-size businesses. Smaller businesses do not have the time, the money, or the resources to implement effective countermeasures against these cyber criminals.

What was unknown previously was that while cyber criminals seemed to have shifted their focus to these smaller size companies, their goals were far from what they seemed. These cyber criminals were attacking any target of opportunity no matter how small or seemingly unlikely the target.

Why are cyber criminals targeting small businesses?

Small businesses are much more valuable targets for cyber criminals today than in previous years. Cyber criminals are targeting customer information, bank accounts, passwords, and any other private information that can be used for financial gain. In addition to gaining access to sensitive information, cyber criminals are also using small businesses as a launching pad for attacks on larger enterprises because of the lower level of security on small business technology systems.

 

What does this mean to me?

Smaller companies rarely have an IT technology staff, and when they do, they're not focused on maintaining a secure technology environment. As a result, smaller companies are finding their bank accounts drained and customers experiencing identity theft and fraud. To make matters worse, small businesses are facing public relations and legal nightmares from the theft of business and customer information.

What AE&E did…

After reading, hearing, and being knee deep in an over occurrence of this situation playing out time and time again, AE&E needed to act boldly and with our core mission front and center. Our solution needed to be effective, affordable for small business owners, and easy to understand. The technology solution we came up with can be compared to what the Secret Service does for the President of the United States. While debating how we could get our staff members to take a bullet for a customer was good for a laugh, it did open the door to what became the world's first virtual secret agent.

The result of our think tank session was the idea of a virtual intelligence and a secret agent technology. Our idea was to take the accumulated knowledge of computer security we had, digitize it into a single piece of software, and deploy this overwhelming knowledge into a virtual computer technician capable of personally protecting each and every employee 24 hours a day. What resulted was flat out amazing and it was about to get even better.

While secret agent technology was created for security protection, we found the system we had in place to find and remove security threats could also be applied to the most common computer problems. When a solution to a problem is found on one computer, the solution can be deployed to all agents to prevent the problem from occurring anywhere else. Not only is AE&E's secret agent technology capable of protecting you from millions of security threats, it can also correct most common computer problems before you're even aware that there is a problem.
