We will explore the security methods used in radio frequency devices, from the first cellular security method to the latest wireless security 802.11i standard. 

 

Attending this course will give you first-hand experience designing a secure wireless network with the most relevant technologies and tools available today. We will look at strategies to deploy secure wireless across the enterprise with low-risk and adequate controls. We will walk through the history of wireless networking and how it has impacted security. We will look at why, at first, security failed and then what new techniques and tools have been implemented to alleviate that failure. We will look at each of the latest security methods, protocols, and technologies, identifying what vulnerabilities are currently being used by hackers.  We will see first hand how hackers perform wireless network penetrations, with an expanding emphasis on their tools and techniques. 

 

This hands-on class will allow students to configure and break multiple wireless security mechanisms, giving them a learning experience that is from both the hacker and the security practitioner's point of view.
